After what seemed like too long, The Beehive is back & ready to host another double bill far too lovely to resist this Wednesday, May 27th! In celebration of what’s bound to be a bee-a-u-tiful dive back into a musical whirlwind, we’ve decided to start up this blog to help document our moments of debauchery & Rock ‘N Roll fun.
Stay tuned as we develop a beehive of a blog, a place to meet all you need to know about Vancouver’s Queen Bee: a music scene that ain’t all too bad after all!
Thee Manipulators: This is a five-piece that always takes us on a sonic trip through psychedelic feedback, brawny snare, and hearty soul. These blokes dish out tunes not only in raw verve, but also in style. It should be noted that recent addition to the group, new organ player Henry Beckwith, is keepin’ up quite well with the his new family – his keys sending out that high frequency in a way that’ll shiver down your spine. As for the rest of them? Well, they’ve got it down, and some have even got girlfriends, so watch out who you’re dancin’ with ladies! ( http://www.myspace.com/theemanipulators )

Dylan Thomas & Your Vancouver Vipers: It’s a fine thing when music wears its influences, but homage is all the more admirable if the tune transcends into a compelling realm. This is Dylan Thomas. His songs are an amalgamation of lyrics both eloquent and simple, a revivalist musical sentiment, but above all, an exploration of all that is real; love, truth, and melody. Joined by Your Vancouver Vipers (who include past and present members of Witness Protection Program, Jody Glenham, The Parallels, Tranzmitors, and Animal Names), these gents exhibit a sound as much humble as it is commanding. Get ready to smile and shake your head from side to side as you hear the harmonica comin’ at ya!( http://www.myspace.com/dylanthomasmusic )
